We welcome students from schools, TAFEs, and universities, as well as community members looking to volunteer, to gain real, hands-on experience working alongside our team. We welcome both students on placement and community members interested in volunteering. To apply, you should:
Be currently enrolled in a relevant course (social work, community services, youth work, counselling, psychology, or similar) or simply have an interest in supporting community services as a volunteer
Be able to commit to agreed hours and days for the duration of your placement or volunteering period
Be willing to complete all compliance and induction requirements
Be 18 years or older (volunteers), or 16 years or older for student placements
Students under 18 will require parent/guardian consent to participate
Be respectful, reliable, and open to learning in a community-focused environment

AusUnity Aid is always happy to partner with schools, TAFEs, and universities to provide meaningful placement opportunities for students. We're proud to be a partner placement provider with Victoria University and welcome the opportunity to build new partnerships with other education providers.

For all students and volunteers:
100 points of identification
Volunteer Working With Children Check (WWCC)
Police Check
NDIS screener check (not mandatory but useful)
Updated resume
Any relevant background check or reference documentation (if requested)
Additional requirements for students:
Proof of current enrolment / university or institution placement form
Course and university/institution details, including supervisor contact (if applicable)
Any insurance or agreement documents required by your institution

Whether you're joining us as a student or a volunteer, we ask that you bring the following:
Punctuality and reliability in attending your agreed hours and days
Professionalism and confidentiality, particularly around case management and client information
Respectful and culturally sensitive engagement with community members from diverse backgrounds
Full compliance with our policies, procedures, and legal requirements
A willingness to learn, ask questions, and actively participate
Open communication with your supervisor or team lead if your availability changes

Step 1: Initial Inquiry followed by Interview
